30 Years, One Heart, A New Shoreline
In 1996, I walked into a bombed-out schoolyard in Sarajevo with a camera in my hand.
I didn’t realize at the time that I wasn’t just taking photographs.
I was choosing a life.
For nearly three decades, I’ve traveled to places where resilience grows in the hardest soil. From Chernobyl to rural India, from libraries in Bangladesh to mountain classrooms in Nepal, my camera has been a bridge — connecting stories that deserve to be seen with people who have the power to help.
And now, this spring, that bridge leads to Sri Lanka.
In April and May, I will be documenting the work of Child Action Lanka, an extraordinary grassroots organization working in underserved communities to ensure children have access to education, protection, and opportunity.
Their mission is simple and powerful:
support vulnerable children and strengthen the communities around them.

They focus on education not just as academics — but as dignity. As stability. As a future.
I will be there on the ground, living in the communities, photographing daily life, classrooms, teachers, families — capturing the human heartbeat behind the work. These images will help Child Action Lanka raise awareness, attract funding, and expand their impact. Powerful storytelling is not decoration. It is fuel.
This is the ripple effect I’ve believed in for 30 years.
When you document with care, when you share with intention, when you amplify voices that are rarely heard — change travels further than you ever see.
But projects like this require support.
Your donation helps cover:
• Provide educational materials and school supplies for children in underserved communities
• Support after-school programs, mentorship, and safe learning spaces
• Assist families facing economic hardship with access to essential services
• Strengthen local community initiatives that protect and empower children
• Fund professional photography and storytelling delivered directly to the organization at no cost
• Cover essential production and travel expenses so I can dedicate full focus to this mission
Even $10 helps move the story forward.
I have seen what education can do. I’ve watched a single classroom shift the trajectory of an entire village. I’ve seen teachers become quiet revolutionaries. I’ve seen children who once sat on dirt floors now dream beyond their borders.
Sri Lanka is the next chapter in that story.
If you believe in education.
If you believe in human dignity.
If you believe that one person with a camera can help light a path for many.
I invite you to walk this shoreline with me.
With gratitude and steady hope,
Ron
